Studio Flamenca, specializing in flamenco dancing, was founded in 2013 by the dancer and dancing teacher Michaela Harari. The art of flamenco is a multidisciplinary, communicative and emotional form of expression that developed in Andalucía, in southern Spain. It incorporates eastern and western music, and dance.

Studio Flamenca is located in Beit HaKerem’s community center, and facilitates activities in East Jerusalem as well. The studio is open to children and adults of all levels, offering dancing lessons, community events, concerts, lectures, workshops with visiting artists, and interactive educational activities for students and audiences throughout the year.

A central aspect of the studio’s vision is bringing art to the community, thus its dancers and musicians take part in local artistic events and various cultural initiatives.

The studio’s artistic director, Michaela Harari, collaborates with professional flamenco artists in Israel and Spain, and has participated in productions that combine flamenco with classical, Ladino and Arab music. Harari, who specializes in many fields – dance, flamenco and choreography – educates her students toward achievement, discipline and self-discovery.
