Hayelala (The Howl) creates original folk music with a rhythm and movement of its own. Their performance unfolds like a mythological tale told by a storyteller, or a gathering in a house of prayer where time slows down. The songs possess an undeniable affinity for the endless enchantment of the earth, grass, sea, rock, lightning, and wind.
These songs remember Love, longing and parting. Failure, rage and laughter. They remember the traces of hooves and furry paws imprinted beneath the roads and construction sites. They remember a howl, heard in the grove and the supermarket, in the fields and under the floorboards, giving it a voice and a face. From this memory, new blood flows into the chambers of the heart.
Hayelala wanders the world with a unique sound: mythical music and poetry, a choir influenced by the black groove of Gospel, the piano of Rachmaninoff, and the trumpet of Ibrahim Maalouf. The band has performed at numerous festivals in Israel and abroad (Fusion and Rudolstadt in Germany, Floating Castle in Slovenia, Mekudeshet, InDnegev, The Piano Festival, and the Israel Festival).
